little me, crafting away

I'm a life-long crafter, and have done a little bit of everything. I remember selling bookmarks in 5th grade to my classmates. I upped my game and made plastic canvas locker magnets in middle school. Eventually, I opened my Etsy shop in 2005, first selling bags, then I started making and selling retro-inspired aprons on Etsy and at a bunch of craft fairs in South Florida. It was a crazy time of non-stop making! 

During they hey day of my Etsy shop, I hosted the first Etsy party in Miami, and after that I founded Handmade Miami with a few crafty friends. We had in-person crafter-noons to create a handmade community in our little corner of Miami (usually around the Kendall area). Handmade Miami also put together an indie craft fair in 2012 called the Craft Carnival. 

But I don't just craft, along the way, I started running, and of course, making costumes to run in! I'm a proud Marathoner, but I love halfs and 10ks the best. I also love to bake and cook. You can see all the crazy cakes and cupcakes I make right here.

I love: retro (1950s and 1960s) styles, cute hats, bright colorful fabrics, handbags, running, bingeing a good TV show

I can't stand: bad grammar, stupidity, unfinished seams, humid runs
