Tune in to... Scandal

I missed out on the start of the fall season to tell you about some of my favorite shows, but now that the winter premieres are happening, I have to share about my latest obsession.

Scandal is a creation of Grey's Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes (but don't let that deter you). The show centers around Olivia Pope, Washington insider and "fixer." She tackles all of those messy political scandals alongside her rag tag team at Pope & Associates. She makes cleaning up messes look good. But then there is the other side of Olivia Pope, she's having an affair with the President. Yes, the President of the United States. And that's where the show gets really scandalous.

The juiciness of the Presidential affair may bring you in to watch Scandal, but the amazing characters and writing will keep you coming back for more every week. This is Shonda Rimes at the top of her game. The stories are salacious and totally captivating, and you just want to keep coming back to see what scandal may pop up next. But once you get to know these characters, you want to keep coming back to see what happens to them too.

The casting in this is amazing. Kerry Washington is a powerhouse. She carries this show and is cool and collected one moment and vulnerable the next. The associates that work with Olivia, including Gulliermo Diaz (yes from Half Baked), all have their own scandals that you want to learn about . And then the White House is chock full of scandals too. The casting of the entire White House staff from the President, to the Chief of Staff and his husband and the First Lady are all amazing. And the Vice President (played by none other than Ellis Grey (Kate Burton)!) is my favorite character to love to hate. You can't help but get wrapped up in this fictional take on Washington and the lives of all of these characters.

This is just season 2 of Scandal, so it's will be easy to catch up. In my opinion, Scandal is one of the best shows on network TV right now. Don't miss a minute or any detail of all the scandals.

Scandal is on ABC, Thursdays at 10pm. Tune in and get hooked.
