Friday faves

At last the weekend is almost upon us. Thankfully, it looks like a chill weekend, but I do have to get my Halloween costume started.

I just love lemon poppyseed muffins. Does anyone even know where you can buy poppyseeds?

picture from girl. Inspired.
This ruffled tulle tablecloth is so pretty and girly. It would be great for a bridal shower or any girly event.

picture from A Beautiful Mess

I love all these chalkboard paint projects (and maybe one day I'll actually complete one), and these chalkboard mugs are a definite addition to my chalkboard paint projects list.

picture from Iowa Girl Eats
These mini BLT quinoa cups look so yummy. They'd be perfect for a potluck or cocktail party.

picture from A Spoonful of Sugar
This little seam allowance guide looks like a great little sewing gadget. I'm sure it'll make cutting a lot easier.

picture from Freutcake
Leah over at Freutcake visited this awesome coffeeshop in Chino Hills, CA. It looks like such a great place, and the brulee your coffee!

Any food is better in mini form, and these mini corn dogs look even better than their bigger counterparts.

These girls night out gifts are a great idea for a girls night. I might have to make some of these for the girls trip to Epcot Food & Wine.

I found this tattoo on Pinterest and it's just stunning. I love how it looks like needlework and the colors are amazing.

I had the pattern for this skirt a while back, but had no idea where I put it. I'm glad i stumbled across it on Pinterest again, so I can finally make myself a reversible wrap skirt.

Hope everyone had a great week. I'll be back soon with pics galore.

Friday faves

My last Friday faves before crossing the pond. I leave tomorrow! The plane ride will be long, but well worth it. Here are some of this week's faves to keep you entertained.

picture from Cake Central
I think I found my birthday cake for next year. This sewing machine cake is beyond amazing. And all the notions really completed the cake.

picture from Cassie Stephens
I found a new blog that I'm totally loving! Check out Cassie Stephens. She posts her awesome DIYs and daily wears. I can't get enough of her awesome vintage-inspired style.

picture from Jane of All Trades
After finally finding the PUL this weekend at my fabric store (and after various puzzled looks from the store  staff), I think I need a project that involves PUL.  These little lunch bags are so cute and I think I need a new lunch bag anyways.

picture from a vegas girl at heart
Check out this free download loaded up with tons of printables. I love the retro look of this set, and I'm sure I'll be using some of these in my vacation scrapbook.

picture from Mrs. Dork
These cupcakes are just too cute not to share. They would be awesome for a birthday or even a beach party.

picture from made it on monday
This easy way to dress up your pillow looks super easy and super cute.

picture from Gertie's New Blog for Better Sewing
Gertie has a new pattern line with Butterick. I love Gertie's retro designs, so I can't wait to get one of these patterns and whip myself up a wiggle dress.

picture from Sometimes Sweet
I loved Danielle's post on being out on the open road. I totally agree that sometimes you just gotta get in the car put on some tunes and just disconnect.

And that's it for now. I hope to schedule a post, so you will have something to read this week, and then get ready for the HUGE picture posts when I get back. Au revior!

This week seems to have flown by. I think its because I have so much to do. This weekend I want to get to the sewing machine and make myself a few things. In the meantime, check these out...

picture from Pellon
This makeup brush roll is just what I need. This way I can take my makeup brushes on my trip, but not have them just thrown in a bag somewhere.

picture from The Smith's Blog
Check out the chambray shirt project. It will totally inspire you to wear your chambray shirt all the time once you see all the outfits you can make with this one simple piece.

picture from Sweeter Lemon
This pendant is so pretty. Can you believe it was made using nail polish? Check out this tutorial to make some of your own.

picture from U-Create
This is so true. And you can download the free printable in a few different colors over at U-Create.

picture from Yesterday's Sweetheart
These salt and pepper shakers are so cute. They totally need to go in Kerry's house.

picture from Much More Than the Birds
I'm loving the retro look of peter pan collars lately, and this top does it right. I love that the collar isn't too high, but still gives that cute peter pan look.

picture from ModCloth
The new Top of the Twirled Dress from ModCloth has me drooling. I need to find an event to wear a dress like this to!

picture from mmmcrafts
Check out these mod-inspired pillows. I'd love to make a few to keep in my room or maybe even the craft room.

picture from Cupcake Project
Two awesome desserts, cupcakes and creme brulee have come together to make these delicious looking Creme Brulee Cupcakes. I wish I had one right now.

picture from shama
This new take on best friends necklaces is so hiliarous. My best bitches would love this too!

This weekend will be full of last minute things to wrap up before my trip. Do you have any awesome plans?

Another week is coming to a close and I'm another week closer to my trip. I can't believe it. I hope to sew up some stuff for my trip this weeekend and I have tons of ideas, I just have to narrow it down. In the mean time here are more ideas to get you inspired.

picture from Rust & Sunshine
I love paper flowers, and even more since Abuela showed me how to make the crepe paper kind. These are made from tissue paper and are so pretty.

picture from Epicurious
I need a cupcake carrier to be able to transport the goodies I bake, and this one, that is shaped like a cupcake is cute and convenient.

picture from Kimberly Michelle
This candle may look designer, but all you need is some tissue paper and you can make your own custom candle.

via Fab
This fish shaped iPhone charger holder is so cute and so useful. You can charge your phone and rest the phone on the back fins as is charges.

picture from Becky Charms
I love lemon desserts. I've been wanting to make one for a while now, and I think I found a new recipe to try with these Lemon Brownies!

picture from A Spoonful of Sugar
I need a new luggage tag, since my last one consisted of my business card zig-zagged in between some vinyl. This felt luggage tag looks like the perfect addition to my luggage.

picture from iCandy handmade
I love my cardis. Autie loved hers so much that she copied her favorite one and made tons of them. Check out the pattern for her favorite cardi and make one of your own.

picture from How Joyful
This ticket pillow is so cute. It's decorating a circus themed nursery here, but how great would it be in your TV or movie room?

via Tumblr
I love this sewing themed tattoo that my friend Kerry sent me. The sewing machine and the dressform are so awesome.

picture from A Cuppa Tea with Me
And finally, I saw this awesome cross-stitch design and totally love it. It's so true!

I have a quilting crafter-noon tomorrow and I can't wait to make my mug rug and learn some tips from Jenni.

I think I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel after this week. Things are finally *knock on wood* getting into a bit of a groove here at work, so I'm not living here as much as I was last week. I've even managed to fit my workouts back in. Here are some cool things I've found this week.

picture from Shelley's Stitches
This adorable mermaid doll was designed by one of my crafty friends, Shelley. You can order the fabric panel and stitch one up yourself and have your very own mermaid.

picture from The Girl Who Ate Everything
This ice box banana split cake looks amazing and is so perfect for summer. Plus it's a no bake recipe, so you won't even have to get hot making it.

picture from Sew Timeless
I've always wanted to learn how to make a boxy zippered pouch. Maybe I'll give this a try this weekend.

picture from Blushing Basics
I love the look of false eyelashes, but putting them on has always eluded me. This how-to gives some great tips. I may have to attempt false lashes again.

picture from Make It Love It
I would have loved to show up on the first day of school with this as my pencil case. How awesome is a monster pencil case with hair?!

picture from ModCloth
I love this "Close-up to Heart" Photo Frame from ModCloth. It's so cute.

picture from Pellon Projects
This little panty pack is so cute and so useful. I'm definitely making one of these for my trip.

picture from ModCloth
And the Round Trip Wallet is so adorable. I love all the details, like the camera charm and the "Bon Voyage" tag.

picture from Pickup Some Creativity
This bag would make an adorable book bag for the little ones. You can even size it up to make a bag for yourself.

picture from Uncommon Goods
I totally need this "f-bomb" paperweight.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I hope to do some shopping to take advantage of the sales tax holiday in Florida this weekend.
