10 weeks to go (marathon training)

Hell Week at Orangetheory started this week. I'm a sucker for a free t-shirt, like most of us, so I had to get in my 5 Hell Week workouts to get my shirt.

Monday, October 23rd - Clean Week: Core Function
Hell Week didn't start til Tuesday, so I headed to the gym with the girls at lunchtime, and knocked out this workout. It's becoming one of my faves.

Tuesday, October 24th - Rest day
Wasn't able to make it to OTF today.

Wednesday, October 25th - Orangetheory class: Hell Week "Don't Breathe"
Yup, don't breathe is right. Damn hell week is hard

Thursday, October 26th - Rest day
Might have gone out the previous night, so sleeping in was needed.

Friday, October 27th - Orangetheory class: Hell Week "28 Reps Later"

Saturday, October 28th - Orangetheory class: Hell Week "Thigh Day the 13th"

Sunday, October 29th - Rest day

A few more rest days than I would have liked, but Hell Week does have me sore.

I'm That Girl

You know the one I'm talking about.... I am that person on your Facebook and Instagram feed that is always posting her workout.

I get that this annoys some people, but I think that posting my fitness stuff on social media has only let me get more into my fitness, and because of that, I've become more fit. Now, I don't post to show off or make me better than everyone else that isn't working out. I'm documenting my progress. There was a time when 10 miles was impossible, but now it's something I know I can do.

My posts are my proof that I got that workout in. It's not just the big accomplishments, it's also the little ones. Getting in that Monday morning workout, or making sure I did a short run are just as important as getting a medal after crossing a finish line. It's not the big things that make a difference, but all of the little things that add up to something bigger.

I also post to hopefully let someone else know that if I can get out there and make time for my fitness, then they can too. I was never, ever the girl to get out there and sweat, but a good sweaty workout is sometimes exactly what I need. It makes me feel like a badass to get it done, and sometimes is even the therapy that you need. Now, some days it's hard, I'm not gonna lie. Some days I just don't want to do it. But I post those too, cause you need to know that it's not always easy. Sometimes it's a fight to get up and do it. But I get over it and make it happen. Just a little push that I hope I can give someone else.

Posting a sweaty selfie was waaaaay out of my comfort zone over a year ago. And sometimes I'm still hesitant to do it. But I put myself out there. I show myself doing moves or just working out in shorts and a sports bra (which was totally so scary the first time I did it!). I'm hoping that letting you take a peek into what I'm doing, will motivated someone to get out there and do the same.

Social media has also gotten me some amazing friends from all over the country and the world that are there rooting for me and keeping me going. I gotta say that I've found a great group of people online that keep me going, my fit squad, other runners and bloggers, and some have become great friends. These are just people there to boost each other yup and help them along the journey. This FitFam is sometimes the little extra push I need to get in that workout when I don't feel like it or keep my eats clean. It's amazing how peer pressure can work in a positive way.

Do you post your workouts on social media? Are you a sweaty selfie lover? Let me know!

I'm a Cize Instructor!

I took a HUGE leap of faith last weekend and did my Cize Instructor Training.

Never, ever did I even imagine ever teaching a group fitness class, but my coach mentioned that there was a training happening in Miami, and it was being done by Tania "The Machine" from the Insanity and T25 videos! And for real, I couldn't not meet Tania.

As luck would have it, of course, I got a cold the week of the training. I was planning on doing some extra Cize workouts to get ready for my training, but that was not in the cards. By Friday, I was able to get in a workout, and then Saturday was my training.

Tania was so nice and greeted me with a hug. We were all cramped into a little dance studio, but we made it work. The day started out with a master class by Tania, which was a huge, sweaty, fun dance party!

Then we got into the nitty-gritty of breaking down the class and how to teach it. It was so hot inside, that we did one of the last parts of the class outside. You know it's hot inside when a slight Miami breeze is refreshing.

Before we were done for the day though, we Cized it up! one more time. It was such a blast and the energy was so great.

So I'll be practicing and hopefully soon, will be sharing the fun that is Cize with others in the Miami area. EEK! I'm still kinda in shock about it, but it's so cool.

Weekly Workouts 8.24.15 - 8.30.15

It was my last week of 21 Day Fix Extreme. The workouts were still hard, but at least I wasn't as sore as I was in the first weeks.

Monday, 8.24.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Plyo Fix Extreme

Tuesday, 8.25.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Upper Fix Extreme

Wednesday, 8.26.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Pilates Fix Extreme

Thursday, 8.27.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Lower Fix Extreme

Friday, 8.28.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Cardio Fix Extreme

Saturday, 8.29.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Dirty 30 Extreme

Sunday, 8.30.15: Cize Crazy 8's and 21 Day Fix Extreme Yoga Fix Extreme

So the remnants of Tropical Storm Erika have done a lovely number on the weather today. It was thundering all night, and when I went to get up for my long run at 5am, the thunder was almost non-stop and the rain started up again. Then I tried to go out at about 3pm. As soon as I got down the block, another storm started and drenched me. So I came back home and Cize-d to burn off that energy. Hopefully I can get in some miles tomorrow.

I also finished the 21 Day Fix Extreme! I'm gonna review the program here this week. I really liked the program and want to see what my results are, so I can share with all of you.

Weekly Workouts 8.17.15 - 8.23.15

Monday, 8.17.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Plyo Fix Extreme

Tuesday, 8.18.15: 21 Day Fix Extreme Upper Fix Extreme

Wednesday, 8.19.15: 3.5 mile run with Kendall Run Club & 21 Day Fix Extreme Pilates Fix Extreme

Weekly Workouts 8.10.15 - 8.16.15

Let me tell you one thing, 21 Day Fix Extreme is no joke! I've been sore all week. I know that just means that it's working, so I'll take it!

Monday, 8.10.15: Plyo Fix Extreme

Tuesday, 8.11.15: Upper Fix Extreme

Wednesday, 8.12.15: Pilates Fix Extreme and 3.75 miles with Kendall Run Club

Thursday, 8.13.15: Lower Fix Extreme

Friday, 8.14.15: Cardio Fix Extreme

Saturday, 8.15.15: Dirty 30 Extreme and running 6x800s

Sunday, 8.16.15: Yoga Fix Extreme

I also did Yasso 800s for the first time ever. Last time I tried to do them, I got rained out. I almost got rained on again, but it was just a sprinkle and that felt great in the heat. I did pretty well, I think. Let's see if next time I can get a little faster.

One week of 21 Day Fix Extreme down, and another 2 to go. This program is hard, but I can already see some differences in my upper body and abs. I had my eating pretty close to plan early in the week, but derailed a bit on the weekend. I'm gonna try to keep my eats as clean as I can, so let's see how far I can take it! And if anyone is interested in the 21 Day Fix, please click on the link or contact me! (I'm a Beachbody coach, so this will take you to my site!)

This week was a crazy combination of stuff: Insanity, running, and Cize. I even threw in some Piyo, cause I really needed to stretch.

I started Cize which is so much fun, and really doesn't feel like a workout, but it's the one that's left me the most sore! I might be brave enough to post a Cize video soon. Just gotta work on my swag a bit more.

I've been really trying to keep my nutrition in check, cause tomorrow I'll be starting 21 Day Fix Extreme. EEK! I'm a little scared, but know I can do it. I also wanna keep my nutrition on point to get the best results possible. I'll keep you updated!

Weekly Workouts 4.13.15 - 4.19.15

This week, I recovered from the 15k last weekend, but I feel like I got back into my groove at the end of the week. I think it was due to the fact that I was able to get an upper body workout in! The weights didn't bother my newly un-braced wrist, but the pushups are still a bit much for me. So no Shaun T workouts just yet, but I'm so happy to get in more upper body work. I'm hoping I can get my arms toned up again. Yay! I also got in 3 runs this week. I'm hoping this is the start of getting back into almost daily workouts.

Monday, 4.13.15: Rest

Tuesday, 4.14.15: 2 mile run

Wednesday, 4.15.15: 3.5 mile run with Kendall Run Club

Thursday, 4.16.15: 21 Day Fix Upper Fix!

Friday, 4.17.15: Rest

Saturday, 4.18.15: 21 Day Fix Dirty 30

Sunday, 4.19.15: 5 mile run

I'm hoping to do a full 21 Day Fix starting tomorrow, so wish me luck!

Weekly Workouts 4.6.15 - 4.12.15

This week, I really listened to my body, early in the week I needed some stretching, and then got in a lot of foam rolling. My calves have been tight lately, and I wanted to make sure I'd be ok for my race this weekend.

Monday, 4.6.15: 21 Day Fix Pilates Fix

Tuesday, 4.7.15: Turbo Fire Fire 30

Wednesday, 4.8.15: Rest

Thursday, 4.9.15: 30 minute run

Friday, 4.10.15: 21 Day Fix 10 Minute Ab Fix

Saturday, 4.11.15: Rest

Sunday, 4.12.15: Riverside Dash 15k

And it's another PR, well an automatic one, since it was my first 15k. But the Riverside Dash 15k is in the books (recap coming soon).

Weekly workouts 3.30.15 - 4.5.15

I didn't get in a long run last weekend, but I did manage to get in 3 runs this week! I also had an unexpected rest day thrown in there too, but I think my legs really appreciated it on today's long run.

Monday, 3.30.15: 30 minute run

Tuesday, 3.31.15: Turbo Fire Fire 45

Wednesday, 4.1.15: 30 minute run

Thursday, 4.2.15: REST

Friday, 4.3.15: 21 Day Fix Lower Fix

Saturday, 4.4.15: REST

Sunday, 4.5.15: 10k run

It's getting really hot here in Miami already, so looks like I'll be getting up even earlier to get in my long runs before the sun boils me. Luckily, this week's 10k, was a lot speedier than I thought I would be! Makes me a little more excited for next week's 15k.

Mar 29, 2015

Weekly Workouts 3.23.15 - 3.29.15

I got in some good workouts this week. I brought Turbo Fire into the mix, and it's just what I needed to get my upper body working without needing weights or push-ups.

Monday, 3.23.15: Turbo Fire Fire 30

Tuesday, 3.24.15: 21 Day Fix Lower Fix

Wednesday, 3.25.15: 3.75 miles with the Kendall Run Club

Thursday, 3.26.15: Turbo Fire Fire 30

Friday, 3.27.15: REST (travel day)

Saturday, 3.28.15: Massage and walking around Animal Kingdom & Epcot

Sunday, 3.29.15: REST (travel day)

I did take a few days off over the weekend, since I was going to Orlando to hit up the parks and hang with my bestie and her little ones, but I needed a few days off physically and mentally to get back on my game. I'm getting amped up for the 15k in two short weeks!

Weekly workouts 3.2.15-3.22.15

My weekly workout posts are back, I managed to break my wrist a few weeks ago, and I've been wearing a splint to help it heal. Thankfully, my wrist is feeling better, but typing is a chore (especially after typing all day at work), and workouts have been a bit all over the place.

I messed up my wrist on 3.3.15, so here are the workouts I was able to get in with that going on:

Monday, 3.2.15: 21 Day Fix Total Cardio Fix

Tuesday, 3.3.15: BROKEN WRIST :(

Thursday, 3.5.15: Shaun T 4 min. Tabata workout (just needed to get the blood moving!)

Sunday, 3.8.15: 5k run

Monday, 3.9.15: 21 Day Fix Total Body Cardio Fix

Tuesday, 3.10.15: 21 Day Fix Lower Fix & Ab Fix

Wednesday, 3.11.15: 3 mile run

Sunday, 3.15.15: 10k run

I feel a little more with it this week, so here's what I was able to get in:

Monday, 3.16.15: 21 Day Fix Total Body Cardio Fix

Tuesday, 3.17.15: 21 Day Fix Lower Fix

Wednesday 3.18.15: 21 Day Fix Cardio Fix

Thursday, 3.19.15: 2.5 mile run

Friday, 3.20.15: 21 Day Fix Pilates Fix

Saturday, 3.21.15: REST

Sunday, 3.22.15: 5 mile run

I've been attempting the 21 Day Fix workouts, cause they are a new challenge (and I want to get my 21 Day Fix shirt!). I have been doing them without weights, and also skipping any moves that require me to rest on my hands. I really want to do the Upper Fix, but that one is really off limits. I think I'm gonna have to mix it up with my hand being still splinted for a few more weeks, and bring some other workouts into the mix.
